I am a PIMS Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta.Â
I recently resolved a 28-year open conjecture in topological quantum field theory and earned my PhD in Mathematics from Stony Brook University in May 2023, where I was advised by Alexander Kirillov Jr. Before that, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and completed my undergraduate studies in Mathematics at National Taiwan University.
My research combines pure mathematics, quantum physics, and theoretical computer science. I focus on quantum topology and quantum symmetries but am also interested in how they apply to quantum computing and topological phases of matter. Specifically, my work investigates a particular 4-dimensional topological quantum field theory and its relationship with higher algebra, especially through vertex operator algebras and quantum groups.
